Guess Jeans
Guess is a popular American name-brand clothing line that uses a question mark as its emblem. It is known for its sexualized advertising campaigns, which have featured explicit black-and-white photographs of fashion models and actresses such as Claudia Schiffer, Drew Barrymore, Anna Nicole Smith, and Paris Hilton. I'm not sure who it was that first made the claim, sex sells, but if there is a brand that has proved it without a doubt it's GUESS?!
Synonymous with sexy, GUESS has garnished an image that combines the devil-may-care confidence of the Wild West with a chic European flare. Guess all started with the Jeans, and Jeans continue to hold the signature possition in the repitoire that make Guess a leader in the fashion industry. Born in the south of France, the Marciano brothers introduced the infamous triangular label in 1981 and have been going strong ever since. Every aspect of the company from designing to marketing and manufactuing is masterminded by this family team.
Three of four Marciano's, Maurice, Paul, and Armand are actively involved in the affairs of the company today. Fourth brother, Georges, responsible for Guess's original designs, left the company in 1993, however, remains a important part of the company's history. Never failing to shock the public with their racy ads featuring sensual models and attiutude to spare, Guess Jeans' ads have featured such glamorous celebrities as Claudia Schiffer and Drew Barrymore. |
